This policy explains what personal information Barbara Leclair collects, why we collect it, who we share it with and what you can do about it. It applies to barbaraleclair.com and to any order you place with us.
Barbara Leclair is operated by Milo Mochi Co., LLC, company number 41-4010122, 25 Prospect St, Watertown, Massachusetts, 02472, United States. We are the entity responsible for your information.
What we collect
When you place an order: your name, email address, shipping address, billing address, phone number and the details of what you bought.
When you pay: your payment is processed by Shopify. We receive confirmation that the payment succeeded and the last four digits and card type. We never see or store your full card number.
When you contact us: whatever you include in your message, plus your email address.
When you sign up to our newsletter: your email address.
Automatically when you browse: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view and how you arrived at the site.
Why we collect it
- To take, pack and deliver your order, and to contact you about it
- To handle returns, refunds and customer service
- To detect and prevent fraudulent orders
- To send you marketing email, if you asked us to
- To understand how the site is used so we can improve it
- To meet our legal and tax obligations
Cookies and tracking
We use Google Analytics to understand how people use the site. That is the only analytics or advertising tracker we run. We do not use a Meta pixel, a TikTok pixel or any other advertising tracker.
Shopify also sets cookies that are strictly necessary for the site to work, for example to keep your cart contents between pages.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop the cart and checkout from working.
Who we share it with
- Shopify, which hosts our store and processes payments
- Our fulfilment partner and warehouse in Guangdong, China, who receive your name, address and order contents so your parcel can be packed and shipped
- Shipping carriers, who receive your name, address and phone number to deliver your parcel
- Google Analytics, for site usage data
- Authorities, where we are legally required to disclose information
We do not sell your personal information.
International transfers
Because our warehouse is in China and our company is registered in the United States, your order information is transferred outside Australia. We only share what is needed to fulfil your order, and we require our partners to protect it.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as we are required to for tax and accounting purposes. Marketing contacts are kept until you unsubscribe. Customer service emails are kept while they are useful for handling your case.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you
- Correct anything that is wrong
- Delete your information, where we are not required to keep it
- Stop sending you marketing email
Email info@barbaraleclair.com and we will respond within a reasonable time. You can unsubscribe from marketing email at any time using the link at the bottom of any email we send.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
Security
Payments are processed through Shopify's secure checkout over an encrypted connection. We limit who inside our business can see order data. No system is perfect, so please do not send us card details or passwords by email.
Children
Our store is not intended for children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us their information, email us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update this page. If we ever add another tracker to the site, we will name it here before it goes live.
